Sway Terms

Sway connects a performer’s public page, live-event request and support room, private Catalog and collaborator work, and release preparation in one account. The current publishing runtime assembles ordered single, EP, and album drafts from verified masters. It does not yet provide provider-backed store delivery, royalty accounting, collaborator splits or payouts, true destination pre-saves, or distributor cutover.

Accounts and public pages

• account holders must provide accurate information, protect their login, and may not impersonate another person or publish content they are not authorized to use
• performers control which profile and eligible release information they publish; public-page content can be viewed and shared by anyone
• Sway may restrict content or accounts used for fraud, infringement, harassment, abuse, or attempts to bypass access and safety controls

Live-room rules

• a paid request is a paid submission for performer review, not a guaranteed performance
• performers control queue order, approval, denial, and fulfillment decisions
• tips and support payments may be voluntary even when no song is approved
• abuse, fraud, harassment, and attempts to bypass safety controls may result in blocks or account action

Catalog and collaborator rules

• creators retain their ownership; uploading a master, supporting file, artwork, or rights document does not transfer copyright ownership to Sway
• an uploader must have authority to store the material and to grant each collaborator or reviewer the access they select
• granting access authorizes Sway to make the selected project or file available under that grant; revocation blocks future access but cannot retrieve copies already downloaded
• integrity checks and version records help preserve evidence, but creators remain responsible for maintaining their own source-file backups

Release drafts and rights

Each recording in a release draft is bound to its own verified master, metadata, credits, and track order. Track-specific master and composition control must be independently verified for every recording; artwork control and distribution authorization apply to the release as a whole. Sample clearance, third-party beat licenses, cover licenses, performer consent, and AI disclosure are conditional evidence that creators must provide when their work requires it. Track structure locks when rights review begins. A Sway declaration, reviewer decision, readiness result, or public release page is recordkeeping—not legal advice, a guarantee of ownership, or proof that a store accepted a release.

Distribution limits

Provider-backed delivery, store callbacks and corrections, royalties, splits, payouts, destination pre-saves, takedowns, and catalog cutover are not live. A draft marked ready or shown on a public page has not thereby been submitted, accepted, distributed, streamed, monetized, or migrated. Separate provider terms and disclosures will be required before Sway can transmit releases or money through those systems.
